Updates and renewals

How the update period works, what happens when it ends, and how renewals and Lifetime upgrades work.

Your covered versions remain licensed after the update period

A license includes updates for a period: one year for Pro, unlimited for Lifetime. It covers every Vaultigen version released within that period, forever.

Vaultigen compares the license’s “updates until” date with the release date built into the version. It does not use the server clock, so changing the time has no effect, and nothing expires on a particular day.

When the update period ends

  • You keep running your version: nothing changes. Your installation stays licensed.
  • You install a version released after the update period: Vaultigen treats the installation as the free edition until you renew. Existing users keep working; only adding users beyond 10 is blocked. The sidebar shows “License does not cover this version” and System → License shows the dates.

Then either renew and install the renewed license, or go back to a version released within your update period.

Check before you upgrade

Before installing a new release, compare its release date on the changelog with your “updates until” date under System → License.

Renewing

Renewals are optional and never charged automatically.

  • Sign in to your customer account and choose Renew on the license.
  • A renewal extends the update period by one year from the later of the current end date and the renewal date. Renewing late is never back-charged.
  • You receive the renewed license file by email. Install it under System → License. The old file keeps working for the versions it already covered.

You receive reminder emails 30 and 7 days before your update period ends.

Upgrading to Lifetime

While the introductory offer is available, you can convert a Pro license into a Lifetime license from your customer account. You receive a new license file with an unlimited update period.

Refunds

You can evaluate every feature free with up to 10 users, with no time limit, before purchasing. After delivery of a commercial license, renewal or upgrade, we do not offer voluntary refunds for changes of mind. Applicable statutory rights, including remedies for defects or non-delivery, remain unaffected. Creem processes refunds under its applicable terms. See the refund terms for details and contact information.

A full refund or full chargeback ends only the commercial rights and update entitlement granted by that purchase. A refunded renewal or upgrade does not cancel rights from earlier purchases. The offline license check may still accept the file; this does not authorize continued use of rights that have ended. Independent rights under the source code license remain unaffected.
